It's official. I've got a bumper sticker to prove it. My baby is going to Texas A&M at Galveston, to study marine mammology. What's marine mammology? Studying mammals of the sea - like dolphins.
Texas A&M is at Houston and they are called, Aggies. Galveston is a satellite school, right on the bay. They are Sea Aggies. Palm trees and a 600-foot long research vessel just yards from the classroom. That's hands-on science.
My baby and wife are driving to Texas on August 17 -- 1,600 miles!!! Wifey is flying home on August 23. We made those arraignments in June. Now, I find I have to work August 23 for meet the teacher night. I guess I can't greet the wife at the airport.
My first-born decided to go back to college. He's found a salary, without education, barely affords car payment and insurance. Good choice, son.
I can't wait to get back to school. I am looking forward to meeting and greeting my new sixth graders. I miss my co-workers. I work with the neatest group of professionals you will ever meet. Each one of them will go above and beyond to make each child feel special.
So, whaddya' think? Any comments?
